Trophy Caribou Hunts
Trophy Photo Gallery

Having owned and operated Courageous Lake Caribou Camps for many years, we know a good caribou hunt when we see one. We offer hunts for all the major subspecies of caribou: Alaskan Barrenground Caribou, Central Barrenground Caribou, Mountain Caribou, Quebec Labrador Caribou, Arctic Island Caribou, and Woodland Caribou.

Hunt #1: The Government of the Northwest Territories, in its infinite wisdom, has closed down all central barrenground caribou hunting in the Northwest Territories. Click here to see how this environment hoax works, and how you are having your hunting rights stolen from you. To see exactly what you have lost, click on the photo gallery above to see the quality of bulls we were harvesting. As you can see from the bulls we were taking, the herd is perfectly healthy. Like all caribou, they move differently year to year. Moved maybe, but not dead. Let's hope the GNWT wakes up soon. Please do not hold your breath on that. If you would like to book a hunt with us in the future, just give us a call, and we will put you on the waiting list. No deposit required or accepted.

Hunt #2: This is a great hunt for big trophy Central Barrenground caribou, in Nunavut, at a well known Pellat Lake Camp. Not a fancy camp, but high success rates on big bulls. Having hunted just south of Pellat for many years, we are very familiar with the quality of the bulls in this area, and it is second to none.

Hunt #3: Hunt the Brooks Range of Alaska for trophy barrenground caribou.  One of Alaska's finest caribou hunts. Maximum of 4 hunters per hunt taken in camp.  August to early September hunts.  Hunt is based out of Deadhorse, Alaska.  Hunts are five days, 2x1 guided.  Hunters may also opt to do a grizzly bear/caribou combo hunt.

Hunt #4: This hunt, with our good friend and outfitter, is based out of Arviat, in Nunavut, just west of Hudson's Bay. This is a hunt for trophy Central Barrenground Caribou. Excelent outfitter. Comfortable tent camps, or cabins. The outfitter has both an ATV hunt, and a fly-in, boat hunt. Excellent young outfitter. First class adventure.

Hunt #5:  This longtime southern Yukon outfitter has one of the best mountain caribou hunts in North America.  Super nice people, great hunt. Horse, ATV and remote lake hunts available. The hunt can be combined with moose, grizzly, stone sheep, black bear, wolf or wolverine.  8 day and 6 day hunt options. Mountain caribou hunting at it's finest.

Hunt #6: Hunt the MacKenzie Mountains of the Northwest Territories, for some great Mountain Caribou. Horseback hunting, can be combined with Moose or Dall Sheep. Excellent outfitter; one of the best game areas left in North America. Over 6000 square miles of exclusive guiding area.

Hunt #7: Hunt beautiful southwestern Alaska, with this first class outfitter. One of the best outfitters in Alaska. Excellent hunting for big bulls. Hunters normally fly out from the lodge, and spike camp, depending on caribou movements. Very highly recommended Alaskan Adventure.

Hunt #8: Quebec Labrador Caribou Hunt, with our favorite outfitter in Quebec, based out of Schefferville.  Outfitter does not select your camp until a couple days before your hunt, to ensure that you are into good caribou hunting.  Highly recommended. These folks do it right!

Hunt #9: Great Mountain Caribou hunt in northern British Columbia in the Cassiar and Rocky Mountains. This outfitter has access to over 1.6 million acres of exclusive use guiding area, and the guides here are some of the most enthusiastic, experienced and hard working in the industry. Can be combined well with Moose or Mountain Goat. Additional days recommended on combo hunt. 6 day or 10 day hunt options.

Hunt #10: Located in northern Manitoba, you will be hunting the Qaminurjuaq herd of central barrenground caribou. Great hunting, with comfortable lodging and great meals. First class hunt. For big trophy bulls, as good as it gets.
