Trail Riding Adventures
 
 
Outfitter #1:  This northwestern Wyoming Wilderness ride takes place in the largest intact Wilderness area in the lower 48 states, and is adjacent to Yellowstone National Park.  The only means of transportation in the wilderness is by foot or on horseback, so you can be confident that it will be peaceful.  The scenery here is nothing short of spectacular.  Activities are varied and exciting, and include riding in search of wildlife, picnicing in the high country, hiking and fishing.  You will have clean, dry, spacious tents and hearty and varied campfire cooked meals.  You will be guided by some of the most experienced guides and packers in the region, and the horses are mountain wise.  A rider of any age and with little or no previous riding experience can learn quickly and easily on this trip.
 

Outfitter #2:  Guided Pack Trips-  These are classic wilderness horse pack trips in the Wind River Mountains of Wyoming.  This ride allows you to enjoy riding, exploring, fly fishing or just plain relaxing.  Jim Allen can taylor the intinerary to suit the goals and abilities of your family or group, and they furnish everything for the trip except your sleeping bag, fishing gear and personal items.  This is their deluxe trip.  4 person and 4 day minimum, but Jim recommends 5-7days in order to get the full experience out of your trip. Trips are available in July and August.
 
Long Riders Pack Trip- This is a custom "learn by doing" wilderness horseback adventure in Wyoming's famous Wind River Mountain Range.  It's a fun, high mountain wilderness pack trip.  It's designed to teach horse packing and riding skills enabling the participants to travel, with the guides, moving camp among alpine peaks and glacial valleys.  This customized wilderness horsepacking adventure is perfect for active people who want more experience and/or a higher level of participation than on a fully catered trip.  The outfitter will provide the horses, saddles, guides, food and tents for your journey.  The trip has a 4 person/4 day minimum in order to book.  Custom dates and trips are available.  You will help cook, clean, pitch tents, saddle horses, pack horses and other camping/packing tasks.  July-September trip dates available.
  

Outfitter #3:  Ride in the southeast Yukon Territory with this great outfitter .  You will be in the hands of some of the finest people in the industry. Horseback trips are offered in the month of July, but there is no set dates or time frame.  The horses here are suitable for people of any age and riding ability, and this is a great trip for a family.  Both day trips and longer trips are available.  Family rates are available upon request.
 
Round Up and Trail In- This is a quick adventure that will give you an overview of a guide's life.  You will be rounding up the horses and bringing them down to Ceaser Lake Lodge on the first two days of this 4 day trip.  You will encounter many river crossings while bringing in the stock.  The next morning, the guides will begin shoeing the horses and cleaning up camp.  You can watch, fish, paddle around the lake, eagle watch or just relax.  That afternoon you will ride out to a mineral lick and see how the animals made out through the winter.  On day 4 you will pack up and ride 4 hours to a waiting jet boat that will take you back to civilization.  This trip generally takes place in the first week of July.
 
Regular Trail Rides- Trips can be anywhere from one to ten days in duration, depending upon what you would like to do.  These trips will start with meeting the outfitter in Watson Lake, where you will then drive to the jetboat which will take you to the camp at Lowell Creek.  The adventure starts from here the next morning as you depart on your ride.  These trips are customizable and taylored to your interests.  Some of the activies you can take part in include wildlife photography or viewing, fly fishing, trail riding or a combo of them all.  It's up to you on this beautiful Yukon riding adventure.
  

Outfitter #4:  Beautiful pack trips in the Purcells of southern British Columbia.  Can accommodate riders of any skill level from novice to expert, as well as riders as young as 6 years old. Can take groups as small as 2 riders to as large as 8 riders.
 
The Horseback Getaway- This is a three day trip with anywhere from 2-8 guests.  You will have comfortable, rustic log cabin accommodations, home cooked meals, guided horseback riding and evenings spent around the campfire.  The dates the trips can take place are from April 15 through August 15.  You will be riding out from base camp and back each evening.  Activities when not riding include fishing, swimming, horseshoes and hiking.  Trip price includes all meals, accommodations, transport during your trip as well as experienced and knowledgealbe guides.  Minimum age of riders is 6, and novice riders are welcome. 
 
The Purcell Packtrip-  This is a 5 day trip that can be scheduled from June 1 through August 15.  Minimum age of riders is 6, and novice riders are welcome on this trip as well.  included in the price of the trip is meals, accommodations, transport during the trip and experienced and knowledgeable guides.  This is a trip into the heart of the Purcell Wilderness Concervancy- a truly remote wilderness.  You will have cabin accommodations, and the trip will welcome 2-8 guests.
 

Outfitter #5Wilderness Pack Trips-  These trips can range anywhere from overnight to 14 days, depending on what you want to do.  This is a fantastic journey through the Washakie Wilderness of Wyoming.  There are various routes to take, allowing for a trip customized the way you would like.  You can choose fishing, hiking, camping, photography, or whatever you would like to do for as long as you want to do it!  This trip is truly left up to you, the outfitter is just there to guide the way!
 
Overnight Wilderness Pack Trips-  These trips are based out of Cody, Wyoming going into the Washakie Wilderness.  They are mainly designed for families and travelers passing through the area.  They can be arranged on very short notice.  These are affordable two day adventures that are great for anyone to enjoy. Ride out, camp overnight and ride back the next day. Very enjoyable with a great outfitter.
  

Outfitter #6:  These are seven day journeys consisting of approximately 3-5 hourse of riding each day.  The trip starts in Whitehorse, Yukon, and the trips take place from late July through the end of August.  Price includes pick up in Whitehorse; accommodations and meals in the bush; riding horse; and one packhorse per two riders for personal gear.  Wtih 8,000 miles of total wilderness, the only way to travel here is on horseback.  To ride in a western saddle is a front row seat to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery along many lakes, rivers, valleys and high alpine passes.  Hundreds of miles of trails link remote cabins from civilization to isolation.  Activies you may experience on the trip are hiking, fishing, photography, wildlife viewing, swimming, trail riding and sitting around the campfire.  Experienced mountain horses allow you to relax and just enjoy your trip.  You will arrive at a different camp location each afternoon.  An amazingly scenic trip with a fantastic outfitter.
  

Outfitter #7:  Famiy horseback and fly fishing trips where you can catch and release native cutthroats, brook trout, golden trout, browns and rainbows all on the same wilderness pack trip!  This is a fly fisherman's dream trip, and fly fishing is this outfitter's specialty. 
 
Five Day Pack Trip-  This is the outfitter's most popular trip.  You will ride horseback into the Cloud Peak Wilderness and see the endless beauty of this great ecosystem aboard your well mannered horse.  Activities on this trip include float tubing, trail riding, lake and stream fly-fishing, hiking and just plain relaxing.  The camps are very comfortable, and the cuisine is cowboy five star!
 
The Ultimate Horseback Pack Trip- This is a trip taking you to some of the most secret places of the wilderness.  The trip can be modified to adapt to weather conditions, grazing quality, etc.  This trip is 8 days, 7 nights with 6 days of riding.  They can accommodate novice riders.  4-8 guests per trip.  There is approximately 6 hours of riding per day.  This trip is slow paced with western tack and local ranch bred stock.  Some of the key points you will see along the way are Shoshone Pass, Trail Lake, Bliss Creek Meadows, the Shoshone River, Hidden Basin, Frontier Creek, Wiggins Fork, Caldwell Basin, Blue Creek Trail, Bear Creek, Teepee Creek Trail, and the valley of the East Fork of the Wind River.  A great ride through some beautiful country!
  

Outfitter #8These pack trips based out of Granby, Colorado, take place in the Troublesome Basin area, and are trips that cater to each individual group of riders.  The outfitter plans the rides based on the ability of the least experienced rider, the interests of the group and what they would like to accomplish.  They don't use the same trail for every group, because they simply don't have to- different trails will reveal different sites and will allow for varying activities.  The price includes the use of horses, tack, sleeping tents, three hearty meals a day and basic riding lessons if needed.  This trip is a minimum of three days, two nights, but can be catered to your specific requests.  The trips take place from June through early September.  This is the perfect diversion for anyone who wants to get out into nature and experience all that it has to offer!

Ranch Ride-  This is a 4 hour trip where you can ride around the 500 acre ranch on trails down the valley and into mountain meadows. You will be sure to spot lots of elk, sheep and deer along the way.
 
Weekend Wilderness Ride-  This is a three day pack trip into the Rocky Mountains.  The trip can accommodate 2-4 riders.  Relax and enjoy the fresh mountain air on this ride, or try your hand at fishing for Arctic Grayling and Dolly Varden. You will have wall tent accommodations on this trip.
 
Alpine Meadow Adventure-  This can be a 1-4 day pack trip depending on what you would like to do. 2-4 riders are welcome.  You will trail into one of the outfitters remote cabins, and view wildlife and waterfalls at their best.  You will be staying in cozy log cabins with wood stoves for heat.  Wrap up this trip with a bush plane flight out at the end.
 
Tetsa Lake Adventure-  Take part is this 5 day pack trip into a remote alpine camp.  You will experience superb lake trout fishing in Tetsa Lake.  You can also take part in some hiking and wildlife viewing.  You will experience staying in both tents and cabins while on this trip.  2-4 people welcome.
